RBWG Awards
Roebuck Bay Working Group members were thrilled to win the 2007 Western Australia Coastal Award for Excellence. The award recognizes the RBWG’s collaborative efforts to work with Yawuru Traditional Owners and the community to develop a values based planning process for sustainable management of the Roebuck Bay catchment in Broome.

The Roebuck Bay Working Group which has 45 members, includes Yawuru Traditional Owners, landholders, community groups, non-government organisations, industry, the Australian Government, Government of WA and local government.
Since 2004, the RBWG has consulted widely with the Broome community to develop a Values and Issue Paper, Interim Management Guidelines, a Lyngbya Contingency Plan and a management plan for the northern shores (includes Crab Creek and the Ramsar site) of Roebuck Bay.
