Media 2005

Broome Bird Observatory and Yawuru Traditional Owners undertook a Shorebird Disturbance Project on the northern shores of Roebuck Bay in 2005 as a second step in management planning.  Management recommendations are to reduce disturbance when shorebirds are roosting at high water on the Bay’s northern shores. The birds need rest on high tide roosts to build fat reserves for their epic migration to the northern hemisphere, a truly remarkable event that should be observed at a distance!
