Media 2011

Minister Joe Ludwig toured Roebuck Bay in June this year and learned about RBWG’s Keep Our Bay Clean project to reduce nutrients entering the Bay through run-off ie wastewater, fertilisers, garden waste, pet faeces and swimming pool discharge.  These nutrients trigger blue green blooms of Lyngbya.  The most inspiring story from 2011 however, is from Roebuck Primary.  Under the guidance of their science teacher, the students picked up 83 kilos of rubbish from a drain beside their school.  Just think what is going into Roebuck Bay…  follow these young people’s lead and Keep Our Remarkable Bay Clean!
